NHS South West London CCG is responsible for planning, commissioning and buying health services for people living in the borough of Sutton.

It’s our job to make sure that you benefit from convenient and high quality healthcare services whenever you need them – whether this is advice from a pharmacist or GP, a procedure in hospital, help at home through local community services, or if you need support with your mental health.

Our work in Sutton is clinically led, by local doctors and other experienced health professionals, and our team includes members from every GP practice in the borough.

We work in partnership with Sutton Council, patient groups, voluntary organisations and other NHS bodies to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone in the area and to help make Sutton a great place to live and work.

There are several challenges facing health and care services in Sutton that are preventing us from improving the lives of local people. Some of the key challenges that are affecting the ability of people to start well, live well and age well in Sutton are highlighted below.

  • Improving the mental health of young people
  • Supporting parents of children and young people with special educational needs
  • Supporting adults with learning disabilities
  • Encouraging adults to make healthy lifestyle choices
  • Combating loneliness and social isolation among older people
  • Supporting older people when they leave hospital

The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment describes the current and future health and wellbeing needs of people living in the borough. It is used to identify where the Council, the NHS and the voluntary sector need to focus their efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of the community.
