On 1 October 2020, Dr Dino Pardhanani took up the role as GP Clinical Chair, Sutton Borough, SWL CCG, taking over from Dr Jeffrey Croucher who is returning to work as a full‑time GP in Sutton.
Prior to his appointment, Dr Pardhanani was Clinical Vice-Chair and a Clinical Director for Sutton Borough (formerly Sutton CCG) since 2018, as well as being Clinical Responsible Officer for Planned Care for the Sutton System. He has worked with the CCG since its inception in 2013, and will continue his roles as Borough Chair of the Sutton A&E Delivery Board and Sutton Restoration Board. Dr Pardhanani has been a GP since 2003 and is a partner at Mulgrave Road Surgery.
Dr Pardhanani said: “I am delighted to be appointed as GP Clinical Chair for NHS Sutton Borough. It will be an honour to serve the Sutton population in this role and I look forward to building on Dr Croucher’s legacy of strong partnerships between health and care across the borough to deliver the best possible care for residents in Sutton. “
Dr Croucher said: “Whilst I am sad to be stepping down, I am confident that I am leaving the role of GP Clinical Chair in very safe hands. Dr Pardhanani has been an integral part of NHS Sutton Borough’s clinical leader ship for many years. He will be an excellent Chair and a strong advocate for health and care services centred around the patient as part of the Sutton Health and Care plan. As a local GP, I will continue to take a strong interest in improving the health of local people in Sutton.
Dr Croucher has been Clinical Chair in Sutton since July 2017. Prior to this, he was the Locality Lead for the Sutton and Cheam Locality from 2014 to 2017.
As Clinical Chair at Sutton CCG, Dr Croucher oversaw the creation in 2018 of the Sutton Health and Care, a pioneering group made up of Sutton GP Services, London Borough of Sutton, SWL and St George’s Mental Health Trust and Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. Dr Croucher has long been a champion for the integration of local health and care services in Sutton.
Dr Croucher also played a key leadership role in the Improving Healthcare Together Programme – particularly during the recent formal consultation. Improving Healthcare Together 2020 to 2030 programme was set up by NHS Sutton CCG working with NHS Merton CCG and NHS Surrey Heartlands CCG in January 2018 to find the best solutions for the long-standing issues facing Epsom and St Helier hospitals. The programme came to a conclusion in July 2020 with a decision to build the new specialist emergency care hospital on the Sutton site. Dr Croucher also oversaw the development of the clinical model, with other local clinicians, that will become the model for effective hospital care locally going forward.
In addition, Dr Robert Calverley and Karol Selvey have been appointed Joint Vice Chair for Sutton Borough having held the post of Joint Clinical Director since 2018.
