Healthy Ageing guide launches for Merton Residents

An updated practical guide to healthy ageing offering expert advice is now available for Merton Residents with a directory of key local services.

Packed with essential guidance on services available in Merton it offers advice to improve health and fitness with a focus on information for the over 70’s.

The guide contains top health tips to help people keep fit and independent. It offers tried and tested advice and provides valuable information for older people, their families, carers and friends. You can check out the directory for key contact details of support available for older people living in Merton.

The new guide includes updated information on mental health and learning disability support services available in Merton.

Many subjects are covered including:

  • Keeping active
  • Medications
  • Eating well
  • Mental health

The Guide to Healthy Ageing was originally created by NHS England and Age UK and was designed as a way to empower, inform and encourage older people to stay healthy.

A digital PDF version of the Guide is available from the CCG’s website. An audiobook will be available for the visually challenged, as well as translations in TamilPolish and Urdu.
