If you’re 16 plus, it’s time to get your jab!

Are you 16 or 17 years old, or do you have youngsters of that age group in your family?

If so, the great news is that you are now able to get your first Covid-19 jab. That means you can start – or go back to – college in September with increased protection against Covid-19.

“Now that 16 and 17 year olds are able to get their first jabs, even more of us have this fantastic opportunity to protect ourselves and our families and friends,” said Senior Matron, Sheila Roberts, who has helped to deliver thousands of life-saving jabs over the past few months.

“Young people especially want to be able to enjoy the summer to the maximum but being vaccinated is the best way to do that safely.”

Wandsworth is already offering a walk-in vaccination service for 16 and 17 year olds. You can find all the details of where you can get vaccinations here.

You may not be used to having vaccinations and be a bit worried about needles. If that’s the case, take a moment to reassure yourself with our key facts here. Or listen to Nick talking about his great experience at one of our vaccination centres.

Sheila said: “Getting vaccinated is the single most important step we can take to protect ourselves, our families and our communities against Covid-19. The first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine offers a high level of protection, so I would urge everyone who is eligible to get it.”

So, if you’re 16 or 17, don’t delay get jabbed today!
