Father accompanies his 10 year old to get vaccinated

Luke Mansell took his 10-year-old son Joshua to get his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, he said:

“Joshua’s mum and sister are both immunosuppressed and Covid for us has been extraordinary with isolation and at one stage moving completely out of London to keep them safe because of the rates. So, for us it was a no brainer just to protect and shield him as an individual and the rest of the family.”

10 year old Joshua added: “I needed to get it, so I can keep playing my sports and doing what I love doing best. If I get Covid, I will have to miss out on them”

All children aged 5-11 are now eligible to receive both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. The vaccination has been rolled out to boost immunity and increase their protection against any future waves of Covid-19.

Our vaccination centres across south west London have seen parents and carers bringing along their 5-11 year old’s to get vaccinated and we have now opened the doors to walk in availability.
